nothing too crazy just some recent life studies…I try and do a combination of fast gestures to keep me loose, and then the longer paints to work on rendering and lighting…so far it seems like a good diet.

Here’s another Tarzan cover I did.

I brought the laptop out on the town this morning to try some plein air painting. I’m no expert at painting landscapes, and right away when your outdoors you’re overwhelmed by stuff to paint. You really have to just relax and start simplifying shapes…and try not to get a sunburn. I found painting from live models helped my character art a lot, so I’m hoping continued plein air studies will do the same for my environmental concepts.
